Users of CASHL are welcome to borrow books free-of-charge,between April 23rd to May 23rd
Between April 23rd to May 23rd, CASHL(China Academic Social Sciences and Humanities Library) has launched a promotional campaign,offering CASHL Smooth-Reading . During the campaign, users are eligible to borrow more than 2 million books,including academic monographs of original edition, bestseller novels and large-scale special collection items,from member libraries of CASHL , which numbered 34 nationwide, and Shanghai Library. During the event, PKU library would pay for borrowers of the PKU community (current PKU faculty, staff, and students) at a subsidy rate of 100% .PKU patrons are welcome to borrow books free-of-charge .
HOW TO MAKE A REQUEST?
Users of CASHL are expected to follow these steps:
1.Log In CASHL Website
First-time users should log in CASHL website and create a user account. Use your University card number as the identification number. Choose "Peking University Library" as your library. Usually, your registration information would be verified within 24 hours ,and the account instantly entered into force .
2.Submit Requests Online
Log in CASHL website ,click the “BOOK” link under the “Resource Discovering” and check the online catalog. Find the item you want and submit your request.Provide as much bibliographic information as you can using the fields available for the book you are requesting. You may submit up to 5 ILL books every time. Remember, however, that loan periods are limited (generally 3 weeks in length).
3.Pick up/Return Books
Materials from lending library are delivered for pickup at the Interlibrary Services department in Peking University Library Sunny Lobby.When requested material is received, the borrower will be notified via e-mail.Return items back to Interlibrary Services at Sunny Lobby.
