Interlibrary Loan Document Delivery
Submitting Systems
Notice: In general, applications submitted by users can only be cancelled if they have not been processed by the staff. If the application has already been sent, is being processed, or has been completed, it cannot be cancelled.
Log in directly using your campus card account. You can directly copy and fill in the document information to submit an application, or you can first search in CALIS Union Catalog, WeiMing Academic Search (Discovery), then select the search results to submit an application.
Registration is required for first-time users. Please first search in the CASHL Resource Discovery Platform, and then select the search results to submit an application.

Introduction of submitting systems
(1)CALIS Interlibrary Loan System
Use your campus card account to log in directly. Please complete your personal information according to the prompts on the page for the first login. The borrowing period for books borrowed is 1 week from the National Library, 3 weeks for books borrowed from domestic university libraries, and 1 week for books borrowed from Hong Kong and overseas libraries.
(2)CASHL Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery System
First-time users of CASHL document delivery service need to register first. Visit the CASHLhomepage and click the "CASHL Direct User Registration" button in the upper right corner to register. The ID number is the campus card number, and select Peking University Library as the affiliated library. After the account is confirmed and activated by the librarian, you can submit your request.
Each reader can borrow up to 5 books from the CASHL system, with a borrowing period of generally 2 weeks. During the annual CASHL promotion period, borrowing books is free. Please pay attention to the interlibrary loan service announcements for details.
Special Note:
1.Due to copyright restrictions, you can only request up to four articles from the same journal issue. For copying of book chapters in the CASHL collection, it should not exceed one-third of the original content.
2.If the CASHL system shows that there is no holding of a journal, we recommend users to submit the request through CALIS interlibrary loan system to enjoy a 50% subsidy.
(3)BALIS Interlibrary Loan System
First-time users of BALIS interlibrary loan service need to register first. Visit the BALIS Interlibrary Loan Centerto register. Select Peking University Library as the affiliated library, enter your campus card number as the ID number, and after the account is confirmed and activated by the librarian, you can submit your request.
Each reader can borrow up to 10 books per request from the BALIS interlibrary loan system, with a borrowing period of generally 3 weeks (1 week for new books borrowed from Shanghai Library). Borrowing books from the BALIS interlibrary loan system is free.
(4) BALIS Document Delivery System
First-time users of BALIS document delivery service need to register first. Visit the BALIS Document Delivery Center to register. Select Peking University Library as the affiliated library, enter your campus card number as the ID number, and after the account is confirmed and activated by the librarian, you can submit your request.

Service Content
In order to serve readers with heart and soul, the Interlibrary Loan Department of Peking University library has been devoting itself to exploring more abundant resources via Interlibrary Loan Service system and improving the quality of the service.
Presently, Peking University ILL and document delivery network (ILL network) has covered all over the country and the world, providing other universities and research institutions with high-quality and efficient interlibrary lending and document delivery services based on the abundant collection resources of Peking University library.
Furthermore, the ILL department of Peking University library has undertaken the constructive task to help CALIS National Information Center in Science, Social Science and Humanities and CASHL National center with interlibrary lending and document delivery services construction, both of which are key projects of Ministry of Education of PRC. It has tremendously facilitated resource-sharing nationwide. We would endeavor to provide better and more efficient services.
(1) Document Delivery Service This service includes copying and delivering journals, conference papers, theses, reports, and other documents that are not collected by our library. Readers can submit their requests through CALIS interlibrary loan system, CASHL interlibrary loan system, BALIS interlibrary loan system, BALIS document delivery system, YI DE-documents acquisition platform, etc.
(2) Interlibrary Borrowing Service This service allows our readers to borrow books from other libraries. The borrowing process is as follows:
·Submit a book borrowing request through the interlibrary loan service platform.
Readers can submit requests for borrowing books from other libraries through CALIS interlibrary loan system, CASHL interlibrary loan system, BALIS interlibrary loan system, BALIS document delivery system. The Interlibrary Loan Department will borrow the books on behalf of the readers. After receiving the notification to pick up the books, readers can come to the Interlibrary Loan Department to check out the books. After finishing reading, they should return the books to the Interlibrary Loan Department, which will then return them to the lending library.
·Use Interlibrary Card
Eligible users may apply for an interlibrary card at the Interlibrary Loan Center with your University ID Card. The Interlibrary Loan Center is located in the Sunny Lobby. You can go to corresponding libraries to borrow books with an interlibrary card. Currently, the books held by the following libraries can be borrowed in this way.

Notes on using the interlibrary borrowing card: The interlibrary borrowing card can only be used by the cardholder. The borrowing period is 2 days, and the cardholder is responsible for any issues that occur during the borrowing period. If the interlibrary borrowing card is lost, please contact the Interlibrary Loan Department of the library in a timely manner at 62759723. When borrowing books with an interlibrary borrowing card, readers should also present their student ID or work ID. Each person is allowed to borrow a maximum of 2 books at a time. Please comply with the regulations and requirements of the lending library, return the books on time, and note that the books cannot be renewed once they are due. When returning the books borrowed with an interlibrary borrowing card, please register at the Interlibrary Loan Department. After the books are due, the cardholder should return them to the lending library in person and confirm that the books have been returned. If there is any loss, damage, or overdue fine during the borrowing process, the cardholder is responsible.
(3) Providing our library's documents to external readers
1.Providing documents to readers from institutions with interlibrary loan agreements with us (Note: Please submit your interlibrary loan requests to your institution's Interlibrary Loan Department. The interlibrary loan officer of your institution will contact us. Otherwise, it will be treated as a general reader.) Document Delivery Service: Providing copies of our library's documents (including journals, chapters of books, conference papers, old newspapers, etc.). Interlibrary Borrowing Service: Providing borrowing services for our library's books through CALIS interlibrary loan system, CASHL interlibrary loan and document delivery system, BALIS interlibrary loan system for member libraries of the alliance.

1.Target populace of subsidies: any current member of the Peking University community (faculty, students, and staff) with Peking University IDs(campus card)

3.Urgent service would include¥10 extra charges per item. The maximum amount of subsidy shall not exceed ¥500 per item. The excess will be borne by the reader.
4.The subsidy policy is implemented by the interlibrary loan department of Peking university library.
