A Guide to the Core Journals of China


A Guide to the Core Journals of China is a research project conducted by Peking University Library and participated by a dozen other university libraries as well as experts of related institutions. The research achievements were published in printed books, and, up to now, there have been 10 editions published by Peking University Press: 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2011, 2014, 2017, 2020 and 2023. It aims to serve the libraries and information service institutions as informational references with which the librarians purchase and reserve books. It can also be used as a tutor to reading.  The research combines quantitative with qualitative evaluation based on the subject of papers published on the journals, selecting core journals from published Chinese journals in China. The project research has been ongoing, and the research result A Guide to the Core Journals of China  has been regularly updated every three years since 2008 according to the dynamic development of journals in China.
