To solidify Peking University as one of the world’s top universities, support the long-term development of the PKU Library, and to realize the goal of building a world-class, integrated, innovative, intelligent, benchmark university library, we endeavor to establish the Foundation of the Peking University Library, to help the library in purchasing rare resources and improving services provided to students, faculty and alumni.

The main purposes of the foundation include:

(1)    Collection, sorting and digitization of library resources;

(2)    Purchase of materials and equipment for document preservation and restoration;

(3)    Cultural construction, exhibition and display of library documents;

(4)    Academic conferences related to library resources and services;

(5)    Librarian training;

(6)    Library renovation;

(7)    Daily operations.

The Foundation is a special fund under the PKU Education Foundation. Under the leadership of Peking University and the PKU Education Foundation, the Foundation of the PKU Library is dedicated to strengthening cooperation between the PKU Library and various sectors across the world, raising and managing donations from China and abroad. Overall, the Foundation aims to consolidate the strength of all parties to better serve students and faculty, as well as to benefit society.

The PKU Education Foundation will carry out specialized management and independent accounting of donations to ensure that the funds are earmarked for targeted purposes.

The PKU Library will provide a detailed project implementation report for donors annually. The use of funds will be under the supervision of donors.
